My Brother's Shovel

I got my Mum and brother iPod shuffles for Christmas. An aunt misheard and thought I'd got my Mum a shovel; these tiny pieces of technology will now forever to be referred to as an "iPod shovel". My brother's shovel went missing at the weekend, and he searched high and low until it turned up in a pocket of a recently washed pair of jeans. His sheepish defence was that it was soooooo small and light that you forget that it is in your pocket. So really it is all Steve Jobs' fault for reducing the record player to the size of a paper clip. By some miracle it survived wash cycle three and my brother does not have to deal with my wrath. But, I feel that there should be some type of penance and I suggest he buys season two of Battlestar Galactica.

I'm jealous. I've got to have an iPod Shovel! It would make digging my music so much easier with those little buttons on the handle. I would be able to sing along as I dig my hole and the blade of the shovel would list all my favorite songs. Wow! ;~)

Wow, it went through the wash and still works?

It probably avoided the blades of wrath because of it's small size~

I'll remember that just in case I wash my girlfriend's shuffle in the near future.

It's all solid state and not much in the way of moving parts, so as long as it dries out it should be golden. Alas, I lost mine off a train and didn't notice. I think it's almost too small to use!...

Wow, the shovel must be well-made to survive the wash. Wish I could say the same for my husband's cell phone.

I got my boyfriend a shuffle for Christmas. I'd be devastated if he lost it. I love playing with the clip too much.

I will take my penance on the chin and order the DVD. Thinking about it I have washed loads of stuff over the years - bank notes, coins, screws, girls phone numbers, pen knives, ID cards, pens. I have yet to launder a small fluffy animal but give me time!

Thank god I haven't done anything to my shovel yet. ;-)

I have the now outdated Mini. I really want one of the new shovels and now since i know it goes through the wash well, I REALLY want one!

Geez, I had a dream about washing my Creative Zen V and in it, after washing, the whole thing turned opague. Cool!

I hope you get the DVD set. ^_~ I know that's something I'd ask my sisters to give me if they pulled something like that. And don't forget: the new season of BSG starts tomorrow night (Sunday) instead of Friday!

Yes, v excited about BSG tomorrow night. A perfect tv night with Rome at 9pm and then BSG!!!

I should say that for once I am not angling for the DVD boxset but my brother needs to buy it for him and my Mum. So I guess it really isn't that much of a penance... I just want them to catch up with BSG as I got them hooked last summer.

Ha - I was going to get my brother a shuffle also but decided on a slightly larger Sony MP3 player. Having read your post I'm now glad I went with the bigger option. cheers.

If I make it through that 8K next Saturday, I'm getting myself an iPod shovel! So I'm paying myself about $10 per K ... which really ain't bad. Of course, I can't actually buy it until I get paid again, but that's just a technicality, I guess.

I did that with my nano and apple gave me a new one for free :)
They just have great service like that...

Someone sat on my out of warranty iPod, and then I won a Zune at work. So now I have a Zune :( I miss my iPod.

I washed my daughters ipod yesterday she was devistated. I hope she has the luck you have had Eiron. I will be checking it out after 24 hours or so.
