Mirthful
- Slowly getting back into the school groove and trying out a new study process
- The new Alexander McCall Smith novel should arrive in the next few days
- My mum has booked her flight and is coming for Thansgiving (this mean neither of us has to travel over Christmas - w00t)
- Enjoying taking yoga and pilates classes at YogaWorks, and if I manage to take 12 classes in the first 30 days I get a free t-shirt
- 3 more days till Alex is done with his current project and will be back in NYC
- Bought my first pair of arm warmers and I fear I may become addicted to them
Melancholy
- Studying the destruction of Pompeii and Herculaneum is slightly depressing
- It is rough as ever getting back into the study groove
- Lost an earring during the SculptWorks class on Monday
- The uncertainty of where Alex's next project may be (fingers crossed for NYC)
Smiles
- I love that I am exercising again and feel like I have more energy which is good because school is kicking off again
- Last two weeks of Alex being on his current project. Fingers crossed his next one will be in NYC or in a cool city I can come visit him

- No plans for the upcoming weekend
- Ate the most amazing soda bread today and I am inspired to try and bake my own bread this weekend
- Tomorrow I am going to see an off-off-off Broadway production of Homer's Odyssey. Tickets were only $15 so if it sucks I can duck out without wasting too much money
- I am on the brink of suffering death by allergies either through excessive sneezing or my colleagues in the back office smothering me to stop the incessant sneezing and nose blowing. The internet swears that pollen levels are only at medium in my area but I swear they are at terrorist pollen level red
- Did you see the scary thin photos of Angelina and the refuges? Why is Brad's mother not putting dollops of cream in her granola which is what my mum does when I go home to visit. Secretly trying to fatten me up!
- Have to get up early for tomorrows yoga class then a 9am meeting
- Leno @ 10pm. Not watching it. Very grumpy with NBC for canceling Life, only giving Chuck a half season and having 3 hours of talk shows of an evening
Great
- Voodoo donuts (way better than stinkin' Dunkin')
- The company and conversation of wonderful friends (who I wished lived closer)
- Stunning scenery of Cannon Beach
- Lots and lots of strong coffee. Portlanders love their coffee so much they even have espresso huts dotted about the highways and b-roads
- Wine tasting and lots of samples
- Back to the 9-to-5 tomorrow
- Feeling squishy after 2.5 weeks of no exercise

- 4 days till we go to Portland, Or.
- Diminishing cold sore
- Switch to a left side parting as there is less white hair there
- Loving Elbow's 'Grounds For Divorce'
- Starting to appreciate The Persians (even if it was based on reality and not mythology)
Not-so good
- Already bored of the Oasis split (and given that I lived in Manchester in the mid-90s I should be by rights in mourning)
- Count down to Alex being home during the week is a month away. *Sigh*
- My +3 inch roots are growing on me
- Cramping
- Hate that I miss exercising
Only focusing on the good stuff this week:
- Feeling very much loved from all the support from family and friends
- I am stronger now
- Going back to work today was the right decision as the familiarity and friendly faces act as a safety net
- Hotel Inspector on BBC America is alarming yet informative
- Looking forward to the chocolate chip oatmeal cookies I will bake tomorrow night
- Very clean oven (who knew they weren't meant to be black on all 6 sides)
- Prep for school
- Free weekend not spent working in a 10 x 10 ft tent
- Fall is on its way and I can almost taste the pumpkin spiced lattes
